Yeah, either freeze bombs or disc launchers do it. Trouble is, I have the full upgrades that say indefinite override, and also there's no timer - they're just instantly hostile again so I have zero margin or leeway. Another trouble is, I need the freeze bombs and disc launchers to get the damage in on time. And no I don't have freeze arrows yet.

Cauldrons are dungeons in Horizon Zero Dawn. They are tough indoor areas with high level enemies and more complicated structures than normal missions. They get marked on the map after going near them / when climbing Tallnecks. There are only 4 of them in total. Each one of them unlocks new overrides for your spear.
All you have to do is press and hold down the L1 button on your DualShock 4. This will bring up Horizon Zero Dawn’s weapon wheel. From here, you can craft extra ammo, and select one of four weapons. Simply move the right stick to highlight the weapon you want to change to and let go of the L1 button.
