The connections either side of the screen are both positive when the screen is on and both half's share a common ground point located in the centre, either at the very top or the very bottom of the screen depending on the model. The heated screen will not work if the battery State Of Charge is 70% or less.
Collected the Mondy last week, I've noticed the heated screen and stop start isn't working. Everything else works fine heated seats, wheel, back windows etc. I understand that if the battery charge is low they won't work.

USB Port in new Ford Mondeo. I recently bought a brand new Ford Mondeo and selected the Sony in car entertainment system (not DAB) as it had the USB port to play one's music from a USB stick. When the new battery was fitted all was well and car started but i noticed the built in Sat Nav Touch radio and fan controls was dead. I checked the fuse and looked ok and re-inserted.

You can fully charge your battery and reset the BMS and everything will work again but eventually, it may drift back to not working. It is a flawed system. My wife has a 2014 Fiesta without BMS and the heated screen works whenever the button is pressed. In my 2018 S-Max with BMS it is a lottery in cold weather as to whether the heated screen
